The Kaunas State Choir musical portrait today

For over 50 years, the Kaunas State Choir has been one of the most prestigious Lithuanian vocal ensembles. Since 2021, the artistic director and chief conductor of the Choir has been Professor Robertas Šervenikas – the winner of the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize.

The last years have been extremely intense for the Choir. We have been intensely touring internationally: the Choir has performed in Belgium and the Netherlands. We held accapella concerts in  Slovenia and in Poland. Verdi‘s Requiem and Mahler‘s 2-nd Symphony were performed in the Canary Islands. The women's group performed G. Holst's "Planets. Neptune" with the London Symphony Orchestra in Warsaw, Ljubljana, Gstaad and La Cote-Saint-Andre. The choir performed L. Auerbach's "Vessels of light" at the Berlin Konzerthaus.

This year we took part in ARTE TV festive concert with A. Grigorian, V. Popov and cellist K. Reiko. We sang with A. Bocelli at the Riga Arena, and had two impressive concerts of B. Britten's "War Requiem" in Ljubljana, on the Cankarjev dom stage together with the Slovenian Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ch. Dutoit.
